第五回ラグビー・ワールドカップは、前回第四回大会の成績と予選を行い、二十カ国が出場しました。四つのプールに分かれて一次リーグ戦を行い、各プールの上位二チームによる決勝トーナメントが行われました。

第四回のラグビー・ワールドカップラグビーはウェールズを中心に英国とフランスで開催されました。


20 team was entry by 3rd. rugby world cup result and elimination, the first stage played game divided 5pool, the knock down tournament by top of one team in each pool and the won team by playoff that is No.2 team in each pool in 4th. rugby world cup in 1999.
第四回ラグビー・ワールドカップから出場国が二十ヵ国に拡大されました。前回第三回大会の成績と予選を行い、二十カ国が出場しました。五つのプールに分かれて一次リーグ戦を行い、各プールの上位一チーム、各プールの二位同志とワイルドカード一チームによるプレー・オフにより決勝トーナメントが行われました。

Rugby is very small number upset game. I surprised that France won against New Zealand All Blacks what have Jonah Lomu who was none stop running WTB by backside kick to his weakpoint. Australia Wallabies was first twice champion of the rugby world cup by moving ball to gap of defense with continuous attack.
ラグビーは番狂わせの少ないスポーツとして有名ですが、優勝候補筆頭のニュージーランド、オール・ブラックスが準決勝でのまさかの敗退に驚きました。前回の雪辱に燃える、圧倒的な突進力、怪物ウイングのジョナ・ロムーを擁する優勝候補筆頭のニュージーランド、オール・ブラックスを準決勝で弱点の後方へのキックを多用し世紀の番狂わせを演じたフランスでしたが、オーストラリア、ワラビーズが連続攻撃で出来た隙を突くラグビーで初の二回目の王者となりました。

第三回のラグビー・ワールドカップはアパルトヘイトで国際社会から追放されていた南アフリカが初めて参加をしました。南アフリカで初の黒人大統領となったネルソン・マンデラがアパルトヘイト撤廃をし国際社会への復帰を目指した南アフリカでの開催となりました。

Then continuous won by hard defense with their national pride, they had lucky weather that was heavy rain stopped French Champagne rugby at semifinal, And they stopped Johna Lomu who is none stop running WTB with New Zealand All Blacks.
初出場、初優勝を目指す自国開催の南アフリカが開幕戦で前回王者のオーストラリア、ワラビーズに勝ち、その勢いと国の誇りを賭けたディフェンス力で快進撃、準決勝では天気も味方につけてバックス展開力で勝るフランスを大雨が助けてくれてロースコアで勝利しました。優勝候補筆頭の圧倒的な突進力、怪物ウイングのジョナ・ロムーを擁するニュージーランド。オール・ブラックスを決勝でラグビー史上初となる延長戦の末、ドロップ・ゴールの差で下し三代目王者となりました。
